The highly anticipated launch of the Poco X3 finally took place on the 7th of September. Poco had teased the name of their new smartphone to be \’POCO X3 NFC\’. Yes NFC ( Near-Field Communication). But as always it might be removed in the Indian variant. There was a lot of hype created before the launch. And as always,  there were high expectations by everyone and did POCO keep up the expectation? Let\’s find out:

Here are some of the highlights in each aspect:

Performance:

First up, Performance. The POCO X3 is powered by Qualcomm\’s Snapdragon 732G, which is a good upgrade over the 730G. It has a higher clock speed(2.3 GHz v/s 2.2GHz) than the 730G resulting in better CPU Performance. As suggested by the name itself, G here is for Gaming and so is the GPU: Energetic and efficient. Too much of this might bother you, so that\’s it for Performance: It\’s capable enough for intensive tasks and eases through day-to-day ones.

Display:

This is an eye-catcher for sure. Poco has retained the 120Hz refresh rate of the display with a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, both of which combined can give a buttery smooth experience. It\’s LCD here.  Other than that, the resolution is HD+ and is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5.

Battery:

The battery here has come with a decent upgrade, 5160mAH over 4500mAH, which makes quite a lot of difference as the 120Hz display consumes much battery. And in case the phone is out of juice, the 33W fast-charger included in the box can charge the phone back really fast. This combined with the very-efficient SoC will give an amazing battery life.

Cameras:

Note: Many people judge the cameras of a phone with the numbers. But that doesn\’t really prove what it is. It\’s the hardware and software co-ordination that matters to get a good image and not the numbers mentioned.

The Poco X3 comes with a Quad-Camera Setup: A 64 Megapixel Primary, a 13-Megapixel Ultrawide, a 2 Megapixel Macro and a 2 Megapixel Dept Sensor. The first 2 are great, but the Macro and Dept Sensor are just to increase the numbers and attract customers. It also has support for 4K video recording at 30 FPS. All thanks to the 732G.

The Selfie camera here is a 20 Megapixel shooter without the \’extra\’ (no use) dept sensor, which was on the Poco X2.

Extras:

Wrapping up the list, we have audio and security. The X3 is powered by stereo speakers just as the Poco F1, which was a huge success. The microphone here doubles as a secondary speaker. Coming to security, this smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner ( No Amoled Screen) and as usual, face-unlock.

Price:

Globally, the Poco X3 sales at a price of 199-250 Euros i.e, when converted to INR, costs about 18K-23K rupees (Early Bird price). At this price, it is surely a great deal as it has to compete against the likes of realme 7 Pro and Samsung M21s, both of which lag a bit behind \’on paper\’.
